The Stuart Nordquist Bronco Football Scholarship

The applicant must have participated in Bronco Football for Jr. & Sr. years; have been a player, manager, or statistician; show positive school spirit & sportsmanship; participate in at least one other FHS sport or activity your Jr. and Sr. year; and prepare an essay between 250-300 words on pride in Bronco Football and how this sport has prepared you for future endeavors.  Information and scholarship applications are available in the Guidance Office.

Masonic Lodge #270 Scholarship

This scholarship is open to all high school seniors.  Preference is given to 2-year of Vo-Tech students; however the awards are made solely at the discretion of the Lodge.  No affiliation with Masons is required.  Scholarship applications are available

Edward E. & Seymour W. Backus Memorial Scholarship

Edward W. Backus was key in the development of Koochiching County.   Mr. Backus and his son Seymour are still remembered as the founders of many enterprises in this area.  Scholarship applications are available in the Guidance Office.

Glenn Alexander Joseph Bernier Memorial Scholarship

The James R. Hoffa Memorial Scholarship Fund

Applicant must be the financial dependent of a Teamster member in good standing; be in the top 15% of the high school class; and have taken the ACT or SAT test.  Information and applications are available in the Guidance Office.

East Range School-to-Work and Tech Prep Partnership Technical Education Scholarship

This scholarship is open to all seniors pursuing a technical degree.  Students with a minimum cumulative GPA average of 2.0 and plan to enroll in college (2-year technical, 4-year college, or institutions offering transferable program) are eligible to apply.  Information and applications are available in the Guidance Office.

Tony Lynch Memorial Scholarship

Tony Lynch has often been described as the “best all-round athlete to ever graduate from Falls High School”.  This memorial scholarship was established through donations from friends, community members, classmates, and family.  The parameters for this scholarship are based on excellence in both athletics and academics as exemplified by Tony during his high school years.  The FHS senior receiving this scholarship must excel in a minimum of two sports and achieve a GPA (3.5 preferred).

Applicant must be a graduate of FHS; must be pursuing post-secondary education within 6 months of the award; must have had some participation, involvement or demonstrated positive leadership qualities in school and/or community activities; must rank in the top 25% of their graduating class.  Information and applications are available in the Guidance Office.

The Leonard J. Kucera Memorial Scholarship

The applicant must be pursuing post-secondary education within 6 months of the award; must have had some participation, involvement or demonstrated positive leadership qualities in community, church, or non-school activities; non-school work positions; or school organized extra-curricular or volunteer activities.   Information and applications are available in the Guidance Office.

Carol and Susan Alstrom were outstanding athletes at FHS.  This scholarship is being offered to one male and one female senior at FHS with the following criteria:  have participated in at least one sport your senior year; GPA of 2.0 or higher; attending a technical school or college the fall of 2016 with studies in teaching, health-related field, or coaching; and have shown leadership, teamwork and sportsmanship.  Scholarship applications are available
