ISD #363 requested teachers incorporate career activities at each grade level (k-12).

Promote usage of career technology in all communities.

As part of the budget, upgrades may be provided to each local partner.

Developing plans to upgrade career winds, MCIS and My Journey Electronic Portfolio for 3 of 4 school districts for school year 2001-2002.

At this time, For one district upgrades for Career Winds, MCIS, and My Journey have been provided with Tech Prep funds.

ISD #390 established its first career center.  MCIS, My Journey resources available.

ISD #390 teacher & 18 students attended Tech Career Demonstrations Day at NW Tech in Bemidji, MN November 2001.

ISD #390 teacher attended MCIS/My Journey training in Bemidji.  She then trained the 8 C & TE teachers at her High School.

Work with Rainy River Community College to include graduation standard requirements for classes offered as Post-Secondary Options Courses.

100% of the students who take post-secondary options meet graduations requirements to graduate.

Arrange job shadowing and/or mentoring opportunities for teachers with local businesses.  These experiences will give the teachers the opportunity to incorporate educational experiences in context with actual jobs in the classrooms. This will include technical writing, math, etc.

A minimum of one business name willing to participate will be reported to the teachers.  Allow release time for teachers that participate in the opportunity to job shadow and /or mentor in a local business.

ISD #390 Apprenticeship Planning Grant was approved.  A series of 10 weekly meetings determined through survey results that the Baudette economy is slow and area businesses do not favor an apprenticeship program at this time.

Redesign existing agreements to match semesters as was set up in post-secondary institutions.

Four new/updated articulation agreements activated.

The School-to-Work coordinator is responsible for getting information to the Northeast Region Committee.

Three regional agreements and one local articulation agreement have been established.  About 50 Advanced Standing Certificates were awarded to area students.
